Springvale

Springvale. Decided to venture there after service on Sunday. It was quite the experience. Heralded as the uber-Asian suburb of the universe, it was known as a shopping (of the domestic kind) paradise. It sure was! Located 50minutes outside the city and about 5 kilometres from where I was, I couldn't help feel strangely at home there.

Primarily a Vietnamese community, most of the shop-owners had picked up Mandarin and Cantonese over the years to adapt to the growing Chinese and Hong Kong people who would swarm there on weekends.

That row of elderly Chinese men crowded around playing Chinese Chess was pretty priceless.

And, ramble of the day?
..."and we knew this was a special one
because no song on radio could sing what we felt."
