Back in Melbourne

Day one found Bob preparing a steak lunch that cost all of $4 (sirloin steak, mushrooms, and assorted veg), and a backyard that was half dead thanks to the heat wave. Also spent the evening watching One Giant Leap (What about me?) and getting really inspired, and Jesus Camp which was 'just a tad' shocking.

Music for

Music for lying down,
Music for life above the sun,
Music for letting cats run all around you,
Music for breathing, lying on sweet fields of joy.

Such a joy, songwriting. Such a joy, listening!

Tip for enjoying music folks - seriously. try lying down, a nice grass patch preferably, as close to the earth as possible. And hear reflections of our living on this wandering planet.

Dad's asked me to try to write a Chinese song, and this will be my next endeavour!

5 random bob things

1. Bob was the National 'C' Division Age Group Long Jump Champion in 1991. He is right handed, but his take-off/propulsion foot is his left.

2. Bob first started to learn how to play drums at the age of 11 at Yamaha in Plaza Singapura.

3. Bob was a name given to him by a bunch of close buddies in the ACS Band, whilst giving each other silly as names. The other two were called Wellington and Valentino. Bob stuck.

4. Bob's first dream was to become an Astronaut/Pilot, but the dreams were dashed when he developed myopia at the age of 10.

5. Bob's first car was a 1982 Holden Gemini back in 2001.

09022009

That's today's date folks - 09022009, nicely pointed out by the keyboardist partner in crime. And it deserves some nice random words! Just writing kinda phonetically according to a melody in the head.

One, is the word of the fish
one bubble at a time
But it's not quite a sound that he can likes to make
Given another time

But hey that's really not the sound
that fish can really make
Not that I've really heard it before
But let's not sing this in vain!

and, found randomly at Daiso in Vivocity. Love the funky metalloid name - Germanium balls. Wah. Soap. Hmm.

Survivors

Spend some time pondering how we're all survivors of massive great wars, ice ages, daily car accidents, dark ages, natural calamities, floods, droughts, great plagues through thousands of years, well you get the point - and I have much to be thankful for. Rather, in awe of.

wow.

Spotted in City Hall's citylink - subtle but very rude. Love the style though.

Glutton Bay and catching Richard Live!

'Twas a pleasant surprise hopping over to the Esplanade with Mel and Alicia on Thursday. Richard Philip (the first lead vocal and front person of the original incarnation of E.P.I.C back in 1999 when we were the Optical Brothers) was on, and I hadn't seen him sing for the longest time - the stars were mightily aligned. Wasn't planning to catch him, we decided on a dinner venue and Bob thought of catching what was on to complement dinner, and well. All good things. He's still the best songwriter/performer I've ever known.
